Data Assist Ltd is an independent, practitioner-led, consultancy which specialises in assisting firms and vendors in managing data challenges in a practical and effective way.
Data Assist was founded in 2016 by Adam Ward. Adam has over 20 years experience across some of Ireland's largest companies where he has held a number of senior roles from IT to Sales. He has also spent a period of time in Australia where he worked on the executive team of a number of organisations.

NATIONAL SCREENING SERVICE
In May 2018 the Minister for Health established an Independent Expert Panel Review of Cervical Screening, following a Government decision. The review was carried out by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) with expertise also sourced through the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. I’m currently working as a senior business analyst on the project which has involved developing, implementing and supporting a new case management system which is being used to manage engagement with the 1,038 patients who are under review.
HEALTH SERVICE EXECUTIVE
I’m currently engaged as a business analyst on the HSE’s mental health e-Rostering implementation project. The project will ensure that there is one integrated system in place for mental health services which captures all staff including nursing, medical, health and social care, administrative and support staff within each community healthcare organisation.
ALLIED IRISH BANK
AIB is a financial services group operating predominantly in the Republic of Ireland and the UK. They provide a comprehensive range of services to personal, business and corporate customers in their target markets and have leading market shares in banking products in the Republic of Ireland. I’m was engaged on a short-term engagement as a business analyst focusing on data migration.
FÁILTE IRELAND
Fáilte Ireland is the National Tourism Development Authority. Its' role is to support the tourism industry and work to sustain Ireland as a high-quality and competitive tourism destination. They provide a range of practical business supports to help tourism businesses better manage and market their products and services. As a senior business analyst my role was to lead an initiative to upgrade from MS Dynamics CRM v2013 on-premise to Microsoft Dynamics CRM v2016 which Fáilte Ireland are the first in the country to do.
BORD NA MÓNA
Bord na Móna is changing. An iconic Irish company, for eighty years Bord na Móna has helped heat Irish homes, manage Ireland’s bogs and develop our natural resources. I was engaged to manage the design, development, transformation and load of identified data migration objects of the Financial Shared Service and Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) projects. I had to ensure that the data was of the required quality to enable effective transacting in the Oracle eBS and OTM systems.
Open Career Pathways is an education and employment service that seeks to help people find a pathway to the career and life they want. I was responsible for the overall management of the organisations information and communication technology services. I ensured that ICT helped the business to achieve strategic and operational goals that have been identified in the organisations strategic and operational plans.
ACQUIRE LEARNING - MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA
Acquire Learning is the world’s first education and employment organisation dedicated to bringing out the best in people. Acquire are uniquely positioned to help both students and education and training providers. They have offices in Melbourne, Gold Coast, Manila and London. I was tasked with delivering business applicable IT solutions and IT operations in a robust and efficient manner, in accordance with industry practice and standards. I also had to lead, mentor and manage the functional IT & CRM managers and support the performance of their teams.
OPEN CAREER PATHWAYS - MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA
G4S SECURE SOLUTIONS
With operations in 110 countries and more than 600,000 employees worldwide, G4S is the largest security and service solutions provider in the world. I was employed as a data analyst. This encompassed a number of projects, predominantly looking after the CRM data migration from MS Dynamics to Salesforce.com. I was responsible for the extraction, transforming and loading of all customer information to the new platform. I was also tasked with administering the system at an Irish level. Another project I worked on was a finance migration project loading legacy data into MS Dynamics NAV. This involves extraction of data from multiple sources, cleansing the data and loading it into NAV for a specific go live date. There were a number of phases to the project as each business unit was being migrated separately.
MAB CORPORATION - MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA
MAB Corporation is a privately owned property development company that has been successfully operating since 1995. With over $2 billion in projects MAB generates approximately $300 million in annual sales, has net assets approaching $200 million and employs almost 100 people. I was employed on a 3 month contract in order to consult on their Salesforce.com implementation and to advise on improvements that could be made to maximise the benefits they can gain from the system. My role involved evaluating all aspects of MAB’s usage and making recommendations on how to better utilise Salesforce.com within the various different areas of the business. I was also required to produce a training manual for all users, administer they system and ensure data integrity using Demand Tools and the APEX data loader.
DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS & INNOVATION - MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA
The Department of Business and Innovation helps grow Victoria’s diverse and vibrant economy by supporting pro-business policies and programs and the development of innovative industries. DBI engages with businesses and represents their needs to all levels of government. My role involved providing business analysis services mainly focusing on the decommissioning of legacy systems and large data migration into their new Salesforce.com platform. I was also involved in the configuration and general system administration. I also facilitated stakeholder workshops and undertook individual consultations/ interviews to accurately capture and produce detailed requirements documentation and designed business solutions based on these requirements.
TELEFÓNICA O2 IRELAND
Telefónica is the world’s fourth largest telecommunication provider with a workforce of over 250,000, over 287 million customers and revenues exceeding €56 billion annually.
My role involved centrally managing all O2 data activities within Business Sales, covering Corporate, Government and SME areas and all customer base, segmentation activities and processes within Business Sales ensuring 50,000 business customer were sitting in their correct customer bracket. I was also business owner for the O2 Salesforce.com CRM application, which was implemented to maximise and drive revenues through the sales channels. I also administered the system across consumer, SME and Enterprise segments.
